We went to a baby shower at Lyn's office today. It was a joint shower with Chachy and "G", they are due on the same date. So we had lunch together and then headed to the office. We got lots of gifts and a generous sum for the baby college fund. Hehe. So nice of them.
Afterwards, I had a spur of energy and decided to go to the Alamo to watch The Incredibles since it made tons more money at the box office for the second week in a row. Alamo Village got new seats, we liked that. Movie was pretty good. Lyn enjoyed it much more. He said if he was a kid, he'd watch it over and over and over again.
Our neighborhood decided to start a Hold'em Tournament on the first Friday of every month. $50 buy-in, 12 people. Lyn wants to go. It sure doesn't seem as friendly as his current weekly game. Oh well. I'm on the neighborhood committees so I guess my husband has to show up to these things too. It will be interesting. But I ain't gonna like it if he gets schooled.
In the NEWS:
I read this about UT n' BCS...bummers!
"So, the second-most intriguing storyline in the BCS Standings is now the fight for No. 4 between Cal and Texas. A clause in the BCS bylaws says the highest-ranked team that is not a conference champion will be given an at-large spot if it is ranked No. 3 or No. 4. Barring losses by both teams, either the Bears or Longhorns will automatically get into the BCS via that rule. And if Utah stays at No. 6, thereby locking up the other at-large berth, there will not be a spot remaining in the BCS for the team ranked No. 5. "
Da Vinci Code: For those of you that haven't read it. You should. Anyways...Sony bought the rights from Dan Brown and Brian Grazer is producing it. It will be directed by Ron Howard and stars Tom Hanks. Can't wait!!!
