With the baby on the way, Lyn and I decided to invest in some air purifiers. And the docs highly recommend it for people with pets and allergies. But the funny thing is...even I feel tons better. We got one for the bedroom, the gameroom, and the nursery. We are trying out three different brands. So far only one has arrived, the Honeywell. Boy, does it make a world of difference. We can actually feel the air is cleaner in the room. We breath better, sleep better, and Lyn stopped snoring. How crazy is that.
Can't wait for the other 2 to arrive. Wow... If we only had the money to install a whole system in the house...
consumer reports had a comparison of all the air purifiers. we were thinking about getting one too. i think the big honeywell and the kenmore did very well. just that filters cost a lot. the ionic breeze from sharper is okay for a small room like a bathroom but for total air it better to get a larger one.

Yah, we had the Shaper Image Ionic Breeze and it sucked! We trashed it when we moved here. It was worthless. But it is quiet...so quiet that it doesn't work...haha. You will definitely hear white noise with the regular fan/filter air purifiers. And it is big. I bought a couple more versions from Bonaire and Hunter to try them out and see which one is quieter cause Lyn doesn't want much white noise in the gameroom.
And the filters do get expensive, but I think it's so worth it. I get congestion with the pregnancy and it was hard for me to sleep. We tried out the Honeywell for a week and it's been an amazing change.
And we realized that we can't keep Mushi out of the nursery so that was the main reason why we decided to get one. Our pediatrician says whatever helps or takes preventative action is good for a newborn.
