Met the family at San Marcos on Saturday. I only went to Mikasa to get some serving bowls, then we picked up Law & Jess and came back to Austin.
We had Countyline for dinner. 17 people, it was a bit chaotic. Lots of ribs. We even got togos. Law was the winner with 5 beef ribs! Most of us had 3 or 4. Some lady prefered to eat the bread instead - things to makes you go hmmm....?
Afterwards, we gave house tours and most of the guests went back to their hotel. The rest of us watched Phone Booth in our gameroom. Yah...watching a movie with vulger language with these older folks is really weird.
Everyone went to the lake in the morning, but Law, Jess, and I stayed. As pregnant women, we can always use that as an excuse. But good thing we didn't go cause the boat was at capacity anyways. Lyn had to go be tour guide, but it was a good thing he was there, he had to play lifeguard too. For real, some of them couldn't swim back to the boat! Silly folks...
Lunch was at Hula Hut. They sure dig this outdoor dining stuff. They all had PuPu Platters to share. So did the 4 of us, but we were smart, we ordered it as appetizers and got entrees too. So they had to watch us eat our PuPu Platter while they wait. Haha. How mean of us. But everyone enjoyed it. Family style is the way to go with these Chines folks.
Then they all left and Lyn and I went home to rest.
In the evening we went to a wedding at Salt Lick. It was at the Pavillion behind the restaurant. It was really nice (and air conditioned). They got married outside infront of a creek and waterfall. Food was real good. We both liked Salt Lick better, but Rudy's extra moist briskets can't be beat. We also found out that the wife of the owner of Salt Lick is Asian, so that's why the sauce is Asian-ish.
On Monday, we rested and slept all day and played Baldur's Gate.
